Running XI on Windows 7

Post by Sbergonzi »

I'm trying to run XI on my Windows 7 desktop using the virtual machine install. I've tried to run the nagiosxi.vmc using the nagiosxi.vhd and it fails. The displays shows Segmentation fault errors.

Is there other configuration required?

thank you!

Which VM did you download? You should be able to load it straight in without having to fiddle too much.

nagiosxi-2012r2.9-virtualpc.zip

Windows6.1-KB958559-x86-RefreshPkg.msu first for the VM.

So you are trying to run a windows VM from your workstation, and inside of that VM you are trying to run another VM? (Nagios XI)?

Sorry, I ended up posting the same message twice.

On my Windows 7 desktop I'm trying to run a VM with the nagios hd, single instance.

You will see this when you are not running the right architecture. Are you using the 64 bit vm appliance? If so, does your copy of vmware workstation support 64bit vms?

Are you using a VMWare product like Player or Workstation, or are you using Microsoft VirtualPC?
