Hi,
There are two hosts, Host A and Host B. Both are online and connected to the same Device A.
Host A acts as the master and receives data from Device A.
it is configured as the parent of Device A. Host B also connected to Device A and will receive data if Host A goes down and also parent of Device A. Both host A and host B are running snmp agent reporting data from Device A.

In this case, How can we monitor Device A, if we get Device A data from host A, and if host A is down, how can we dynamically switch to host B to get hold of Device A details?

If you are using SNMP traps with these devices and forwarding them to nagios XI, you could should receive updates only to one of your hosts, or services if the other is down, and you would not have to deal with notifications telling you one is critical unless you have set up freshness checking on them.
