Hi,

I have an issue when attempting to upgrade nagios using vsphere, my problem is that when i enter the wget command followed by the url of the update, vsphere is unable to resolve the host address.

This may be an issue with vsphere not having dns configured so it cannot go out to the internet to get the update.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I might be in left field here, I assume you're loading a console to a VM and then running a wget command. If this is the case, the description of post is very misleading since it has nothing to do with the vsphere client.

If your unable to resolve a network address then yes its a DNS issue.

A alternative would be is download the update on a machine with valid DNS settings and a connection to the outside world and then scp / rsync the file to your nagios server.

I agree with what Technick said, are you able to ping outside of your network to say... 8.8.8.8 (one of google's DNS servers)?
