Hi,

we currently noticed that same services went into state pending. As we have specific View of different users, we searched in any of them to find the service. The only possibility to find the pending service was to search for the host or the service in Nagios NXI.

We did some testing and it seems that when the output became too big the service is going into pending. Worse, the button/link for scheduling an Immediate Check was disappearing. The only wait to reactivate the check was to submit a passive check.

- Is this a bug or a specified behavior?
- If it is a bug, is there a fix?
- Is this a problem of NXI or Nagios Core?

Honestly, this does ring a bell, but I don't remember which piece it was related to. There have been so many changes and bug fixes since the release of 2012R1.0 I would strongly recommend upgrading

I could not found any entry in the changelog (NXI, Core, nrpe).

I know that we are using an older version of Nagios an that an update is necessary. But it currently works very well.

There are two things I want to know:

1. Is this a bug or a "normal" behavior as there maid be a limit of the output? (I could find any limitation)
2. Is the bug fixed in the latest release? Could you test a simple check nrpe with the current version that calls a script. That script only needs to print around 25000 characters to the output. If you confirm that the bug is fixed, we can upgrade and be sure the problem won't appear.
