Disable NCPA Web

Ok, I have a question regarding the NCPA web interface. I'll admit I barely googled, but I did attempt to check the docs and didn't see it there.

If I am using NCPA for passive checks only, I have no reason for it to be listening on 5693. can I disable that somehow and still use it for the passive checks? One option would be that it only listens locally and responds if you are actually doing it from that machine. If I change the listen IP to 127.0.0.1, will that give me that functionality? I'm just trying to head off security as I know they are going to ask this.

Also, can I just shut down the NCPA listener service if I want it off completely with the passive still functioning fine?

I think this may actually be my final NCPA question for a while :ugeek:

You can absolutely shutdown the listener service if you only wish to do passive checks, and this may actually alleviate the web interface question as well, as that should be the only portion listening on 5693. As for the changing what interface it is listening on, I will have to check if that is currently available, otherwise it definitely should be made so, for both security and multi-interface systems.
