Nagios XI Support,

I need assistance with the following:

• How do you uninstall Nagios XI on LINUX and AIX?
• How do you uninstall on Windows (I assume run uninstaller)

You have nice documentation regarding the installation process; do you have any for the uninstall regarding the items listed above?

How can I monitor the following on windows, LINUX and AIX?

• Disk I/O
• Network I/O

Windows Only:

• Cluster services

Please provide how to and/or recommended plugins and best practices / approach for above.

One more question, how can I use templates or any other Nagios XI features to facilitate monitoring many servers.

A couple things right off the bat:

You already have another thread open for the Network and Disk I/O issues here: http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtop ... 33&p=93544. Please do not ask the same question in two separate threads. You also already have a thread open for the Cluster services on Windows here: http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtop ... 35&p=93549. In that thread you also ask about how to use templates, which you have asked here as well. Again, please do not post the same question in multiple threads. One thread = one issue.

Those questions will be addressed in their appropriate threads.

In addition, please do not post your full contact details both in your signature and at the bottom of each post. That just fills up space on the screen and makes it harder to separate out the relevant info.

As for the question of how to uninstall, Nagios XI does not run on Windows (and neither does Nagios Core) so there is nothing to uninstall. We do not support installation on AIX so we have no procedure for uninstalling there either. And for uninstalling from a Linux machine, we expect that the machine does not have anything else running on it (it should be a server dedicated to XI) so usually it is less of an uninstallation issue and more of a "decommission the server" issue. However the core Nagios files are located in /usr/local/nagios and /usr/local/nagiosxi by default, with the "nrdp" and "nagvis" directories also related. You would also want to stop the nagios process from starting at boot via /etc/init.d entries, and remove the relevant "nagios" and "nagiosql" databases from MySQL, and the "nagiosxi" database from postgres.
