Hey all, I'm running Nagios 3.3.1 on FreeBSD 9.1 (soon to be v10) and I'm thinking about upgrading to Nagios 3.5.1 (the newest Nagios in my Ports). If I install the new Nagios will it see that Nagios is already installed and non-destructively upgrade it? Would copying my Nagios folder be enough of a backup in case my system gets hosed by this upgrade?
Thanks,
Joe B

Re: Nagios upgrade process on FreeBSD
To upgrade core you must always re-compile it, you can follow our instructions here, simply change the directories, commands, and file names to match yours as it does not sound like you have the ability to use Nagios Core 4 yet.
