the service alert emails we're getting in outlook have the respond URL as a link, but the service alert emails we get on our on-call phone (android smart phone) don't have the respond URL as a link that can be selected.

Do you have notifications set up through your users? If so, make sure that there is a response URL in Admin > Notification Management > Mobile Text, or SMS depending on what you are using.

I believe notification management is part of the enterprise edition, which we're not using.

We currently only have email enabled for the notification method (not mobile text).

The service alert is coming to the smartphone as an email.

Below is the format that's currently defined.

***** Nagios XI Alert *****

%alertsummary%

Notification Type: %type%

Service: %service%
Host: %hostalias%
Address: %hostaddress%
State: %servicestate%
Info:
%serviceoutput%
Date/Time: %datetime%

Respond: %responseurl%
Nagios URL: %xiserverurl%

To clear things up, it is being sent as an email, to an email address, and you are opening it on your mobile phone? Or the address is the carriers email to text address i.e '[email protected]'?

You can check this on specific users by clicking their name in the top right of XI, then going to Notification Messages, do you ONLY have email enabled here?

Yes, it is being sent as an email to an email address and we're opening it up on the mobile phone.

I'm relatively new with Nagios, so is there a way I can verify what user the alerts are going out as?

Since the link displays correctly in outlook, maybe it's an issue with the email client that we're using on the mobile phone.

We're using an email client called "good".

I was thinking it might be a Nagios config issue, but maybe that's not the case.

it ended up being an issue with the email client on the mobile phone.
