I'm trying to use Nagios XI to define groups of servers and services that pertain to different members of our organization. For example, I have a Service group "Active Directory." "Edge Switches," and "Datacenter Switches." I have defined Contact Groups "AD Administrators, "Distribution Support," and "Datacenter Support." The goal is obviously to match the service group with the contact group so that, for example, the members of the contact group AD Administrators get notified whenever a component of the Active Directory service group triggers an alert. Is this even possible?

Configure your contacts/contactgroups on a service template, and then add the templates to the service group in question. Those services should now inherit the contacts from the template.
