To Nagios XI Tech Support Specialist:
We are trying to get notification sent repeatedly by the hour after the issue or down host has been acknowledged from the open host problem list. Reason being, some sites or hosts still are down for days. We do want any of our techs to overlook these down sites after a number of days. What would be our best option or approach to this matter? The method of delivery that we prefer is e-mail. We still get notifications to out e-mail when the host(s) goes down, but we still need it to continue on a hourly basis just to not forget about a particular host that is down.

Once the problem with a host or a service is acknowledged, notifications are not sent by design. This is the purpose of acknowledgements in general.

If issue has been acknowledge, how do we set a re-occuring notification that the issue still exist as a reminder and location is still down without internet???

What you can do is enter a "comment" instead of acknowledging the problem. This way, when you view your hosts or services you will be able to see this comment and you will continue to receive notifications.
Go to "Host (or Service) Detail" and select the particular host or service. Next, click on the "Advanced" tab and go to "See this host (or service) in Nagios Core" under "More Options". Click on "Add a new comment" under "Host (or Service) comments". Enter your comment and click on "Commit".
Now if you view you hosts and services you will be able to see the comment that you just placed. You will continue to receive notifications, because you haven't "acknowledged" the problem.
However, if you acknowledge it, then the notifications won't be sent at all.
