How to view Parent-Child in Host and/or Service Detail or...

Hello:
We're running Nagios XI 2014R1.1 and I configured my first website URL monitor process via the "Website" monitor wizard, and defined the website under a Parent Host.
Is there a way to view that Parent-Child relation on the same page through any of the Maps or Quickviews or Details, since I do not see that relation visually at this time?
Example:
preferably, like in the Service Detail area:
Parent Host (physical or VM server) | Service | Status ...
|
--------> Child 1 (website) | Status of website
--------> Child 2 (website) | Status of website
etc.
or
Parent Host (physical or VM server) ---> Child 1 (website) | Status
---> Child 2 ...
etc.
Thank you.

It doesn't seem like you can view the parent/child relationships directly from these pages. This could be a feature request candidate. As a "workaround" you could click on the "Advanced" tab (under "Host Status Detail"), then click on "See this host in Nagios Core" (Under "More Options").

I used the Website Monitoring Wizard to add in one website for testing, and in Step 6 there is an option to select a Parent Host (which I did select the parent server); however, I am not seeing that information in "Service Status Details For Host" or finding where the Parent Host is tied in with the Website - to me the website is identified as a Host instead of a Child of a Host.
We would like to be able to see and identify if the specific website or if the Parent is down or having an issue by just a quick glance at the monitor, like something below:
1).
Parent server (Host) - Website (child) - Host and Child services - Status - other information
or
2). EDITED - NOTE: "Host Ping", "Host HTTP", "etc." and "Child Ping" should appear under "Services", and "Website (child)" should appear under "Website (child)", but the editor removed all the spaces when this posted.
Parent server (Host) | Child (if any) | Services | Status ...
Host Ping
Host HTTP
etc.
Website (child) Child ping
etc.
It appears that this does not exist, unless it's because of the Website Monitoring Wizard sets up the Child as a Host instead of a dependent object. Make sense?

Parent/child relationships in Nagios are defined among hosts. Please, review our documentation on the topic here:
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/nagi ... ility.html
...to me the website is identified as a Host instead of a Child of a Host
The parent of a host is defined with the "parents" directive in the config file... It's quite clear which host is the parent, and which one is the child... You can click on the Network Status Map and easily see how the hosts are related to each other.

We have 4 large Productions subnets which have close to 300 unique hosts/parents, in my system.
By the view within the Network Status Map which I provided as an attachment, which I can not adjust, does not make it easily seen.

I'd take a look at Home > Hypermap, that will make them much easier to see. You might also want to review how you are defining parents, looks like Nagios is the parent of a lot of those hosts, I'd add more layers to your host/child system that is already in place to flesh it out a bit more and make it more true to life. Such as firewalls being parents of devices directly behind them in multiple locations, etc.

Exactly. I was only given "Production servers" to monitor in the "Production VLAN" as we started to develop.
I need more feedback and involvement from my team to get this weeded out better.
However, is there any way to view the parent/child connection in the Host and/or Service Details view, like how Up.Time does or similar?
Thank you.

Okay, thank you.
I would like to suggest a "feature request" of this in any of the views, please.
