Imported services have "illegal characters"

The services that I imported have colons in their names but they imported ok it seems.
Some other services did not import at all and I can't create them because of the colons in the names. This is the error message which is stopping progress:
Error: Could not find a service matching host name 'dentjsis1' and description 'Forbind Process Count:: TUI_STG' (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/servicegroups.cfg', starting on line 425)
I tried creating the service definition and that is when I found out that the colons are illegal characters. Can anyone suggest a workaround for this? There are a lot of services in our system with this format and only a few did not import even with the double colons in the names.
