Thanks for that, it makes a lot more sense now.
Are the client servers on the same subnet as the nagios server.
When you changed the IP addresses on the nagios servers, did you restart the nagios service, or reboot the nagios servers?

Re: Gateway Time-out
You could try deleting the retention file and restarting Nagios to see if that fixes the problem.
/usr/local/nagios/var/retention.dat
/usr/local/nagios/var/retention.dat

Hello,
Client servers are in same or different subnet.
We did not restarted nagios service or not even reboot the server.
When we changed the IP address after that have restarted network service on both servers.
Deleted /usr/local/nagios/var/retention.dat and restarted nagios service but still getting same error.
Thanks,
Imran Khan.

Re: Gateway Time-out
I don't think it's a networking issue as your manual example shows server and client communicating fine.
I think the best thing you can do now is to turn on debug logging in Nagios and see what is happening in the logs.

Hello,
Enabled the deug log and restarted nagios service but nagios.debug is not showing on /usr/local/nagios/var/ path.
This debug log file path mentioned in nagios configuration.
debug_file=/usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.debug
Thanks,
Imran Khan.

Re: Gateway Time-out
It's strange that nothing is happening in the debug file, because when debug_level=-1 it logs everything that happens.
I would reboot the entire server.

Are you running/accessing the core UI through a proxy?

Re: Gateway Time-out
Hello,
I want re install nagios core-4.0.7 on centos-6.5 server.
Please let me know the procedure to install this latest version from yum.
Also I observed that check_nrpe plugin is not available in nagios plugin tarball (nagios-plugins-2.0.3.tar.gz).
Can we install nagios latest version-4.0.7 from tarball (nagios-4.0.7.tar.gz) and nagios plugins using yum?
Thanks,
Imran Khan.
