Contact Inheritance Question

Ok, I am pretty sure I know the answer and it's fine, I just want to make sure......

1.)Host1 uses template1 which assigns a contactgroup to alert settings.
2.)Service1 and Service2 inherit that setting and any alert for those services goes to that contactgroup
3.)Service3 has a locally defined contact so it stops inheriting contact and contactgroups from the host and only sends to those defines on the service and/or service templates used

So, #3 is correct, right?

#3 is correct in that you won't inherit the host contacts, however the local vs template contacts for the service will of course depend on the null/standard/+ options you have set.

Bandit,

I'm using nr 3's everywhere. I have configured a fake contactgroup, contact and servicegroup for most services to prevent contact inheritance from the host and with the plus option, I'm inheriting all contacts from the service templates. Every service template had three versions, per priority with different contacts (on duty) and different check intervals and servicegroups.

Grtz

Willem
