Delay SNMP Trap Alerts

I've successfully configured NagiosXI to read SNMP Traps using the documentation here http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ith_XI.pdf and the SNMP Configuration Trap Wizard.

I'm successfully recieving SNMP Traps from my devices works but I'm trying figure out if its possible so alerts are only sent if the system is in a warning/critical state for x time (i.e. soft state) instead of generating a HARD Critical/Warning straight away. Since SNMP Traps don't seem to use active or passive checks, there doesn't seem to be a way to run a reoccuring check.

Does anyone know a way of doing this?

Stuff,

Unfortunately, thats the nature of the SNMP Trap beast. If you do want to do that I would suggest going a different route for monitoring your SNMP device.

Thanks for the prompt response.

The program I am trying to monitor uses Event <-> Trap translator and seems to be the only way it will report.
Can anyone point me towards a way I can translate either Windows Events and/or SNMP Traps to something that can be actively/passively checked by Nagios?
