Alerts for Individual Disks in Disk Group

NagiosXI 2014R1.2

We have grouped the monitoring of disk into a single check so that it only shows disk with alerts only.
However if there is already in warning or critical state, it wont alert again if a new drives exceeds a threshold.

Example

Oct 1 - Drive C 90% - Critical Alert raised.
Oct 2 - Drive C 90%, Drive D 85% - Critical Alert not raised for drive D since the monitor is already in that state.

Is there anyway to force the generation of the alerts for individual drives without creating separate checks?
BTW we have set the re-notification interval to 1 month

Thanks

You'll want to make that service volatile:

http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/ ... vices.html
This will essentially cause it to take appropriate actions (alerts and such) on *every* check regardless of state or whether it has changed.

Our interval is 5 minutes with 1 retry after 5 minutes and assuming only a single drive is in critical.
We will get 6 notification per hour for the same problem.
This is not what we are looking for.

Is there any other options?

It seems like you will need to create separate checks.

Ok. Please close this case.
