Tracking the frequency of alerts

Does anyone have any suggestions on tools to track the frequency of alerts?

I am looking for the following type of information:

1. Your most common alerts are X, Y, Z, etc.
2. Alert X fires in the same time range every week

Essentially I want a tool that allows me to determine where the bulk of my alerting noise is originating from, so I can focus on the worse offenders.

Thanks, Jesse

Nagios XI can do this using built-in reporting. It will show the top alert producers, alerts by hour, latest alerts, and many other reports you may be interested in. Here's a snippet from the Executive Summary:

Thanks tmcdonald, any options for those of us just running nagios core?

Unfortunately, nothing quite so glamorous. Besides the default reports in Core, there may be some custom created ones floating around that you could build in.
