XI 2011R1.6 - NRPE (ssl) for Solaris

The new XI requires an SSL handshake for NRPE checks. I've had NRPE on our Solaris servers for several years, and using the 2.9/3.x Core versions of Nagios without issue. Is there a newer NRPE agent I can install on the Solaris servers to handle the SSL handshake that's required?

...or is there something else I should be looking into besides sticking with NRPE on the Solaris machines?

Well we do have newer SNMP and check by SSH wizards if you want to check those out. I don't have direct experience with Solaris but it looks like this topic directly addresses your issue:
