You may have freshness checking enabled on the host, can you go to CCM > Hosts > Click the diskette icon next to this host's name, and attach the output here? Or wrap it in code-wraps so we can take a look? Thank you.

Could you send us a screen shot of notifications (go to Nagios XI --> Home --> Incident Management --> Notifications). Also, please send us the service check that is causing the up and down for the host and service. And which notification command you are using for the host and service.

Dear cmerchant
Version : Nagios XI 2014R2.0
Its not related to Host or Service, somewhere some global setting making issue, my other service 'darwaza-mxp-280' one of Ethernet link is down and was generating 60 min interval notification, that time also Host.Alert UP coming (dot . I added for testing).
If you see my latest topic (very few) for Notification you will more idea what I using.....xi_service_notification_handler
Please zoom my screenshot, I added all-in-one.
FYI, we using Nagios last one year, looks interesting....we renewed....we upgraded to 2014R2....now we want to use more and facing little issue....only your advice will help....so be cool....as sometime we don't know how to report you....many options are there....we did not explore...and did not play around due to fear of big issue on live system.

Dear Expert/cmerchant
I was going through my attached screenshot (Incident Management, Notifications), I found there is duplicate Service Alert, same service , same alert , same time....its repeating.
NID, COID, CNID remain same, just CNMID change in same alert <<< I don't know NID, COID, CNID

, need to read if you not explaining

Dear Expert
Please find Screenshot without filter.....only mine one is duplicate, rest is okay (just single).
Please note for other Alert, Email notification is disabled (I mean we put fake email address) as till date we not using this facility.
Only my link put in test mode and facing issue (round one) duplicate.
Regards

Which notification options do you have for your user? I think you might have "Down" disabled for your user's notifications, so when the host goes down you are not receiving an alert, but when it recovers you are. Can you click your username in the upper-right corner and click "Notification Preferences" on the left, then take a screenshot?
Also, from looking at the code:
Code: Select all
NID: Notification ID
COID: Contact Object ID
CNID: Contact Notification ID
CNMID: Contact Notification Method ID
I have no idea what the last one means in this context (I would have to dig deeper or ask a developer) but there they are.

Dear Experts
Thanks to try to resolve my issue....now got fixed.... I will tell you why Host Alert was coming along with Service Alert....but mistake was very nice can be use as a purpose.
In CONFIGURE ,, Alerting ,, CONTACTS ,, Contact Management ,, Alert Setting ,, Manage Service Notification Commands....here along with XI_Service_Notification_Handler, I also selected (added) xi_host_notification_handler. Removed Host_Notication and problem get resolved....Sound funny but me as a new to Nagios and doing Trial and Error to Enable Notification for our Customers, it happened unknowingly.....but can be use purposely. I will explain how can be useful....for our Company Infrastructure Devices (Routers/Switch) because in Host there is many fields, we can use for Information along with Service Alert. During MAJOR SERVICE (Link) outage, full Host Info also very important.
** Okay Please close the case. **
Once again...........thanks to Nagios Expert Team.
