we have 60,000+ hosts with aproxamently 30 monitors on each host. How would you monitor the environment with XI, What would it look like? How many servers per Xi? How many Fusion servers? What would the size of XI Servers be?

So you are looking at roughly 1,800,000 checks? That's going to be quite a few XI servers. Have you spoken with our sales team as to the feasibility of this yet? They should also have information on site-wide installations which should help you out. Without knowing more about how your environment is set up, you're looking at between 300-400 XI servers for that many checks, possibly less if you use something such as Mod_gearman to offload active checking to other systems, but again, those are additional systems. I'd highly recommend you contact [email protected] with a Request for Information, that way, we can answer most of your questions in one fell swoop.

hananjay, as slansing indicated, the best route would be to contact [email protected], however, I will offer my personal opinion for feedback. I'm managing a large environment myself with 80811 hosts and only a total of 96630 monitors. Following are some key points that may have significant impact on your nagios architecture:

Quantity of Hosts
Host architecture ( OS and apps to be monitored )
Locations
Nagios Server hardware
Type of services to be monitored
Multi-Tenancy Requirements
Desired Service Level Requirements for monitoring

In my environment, I was able to lower the number of service monitors required by increasing the number of checks performed in a single monitor. This may or may not be possible in your environment but it gives you an idea of what is possible. Below is a snap of my fusion setup without server names.
