Nagios Support Forum

Is there a way to have Nagios check the uptime of a system and report if the uptime is < 5 minutes? We had a crash this weekend that our NOC didn't notice because it recovered quickly. I'd like to raise an alert if the uptime is < 5min and have that alert stay until acknowledged.

Or, if anyone else knows of a good way to check for an unexpected shutdown I'm all ears.

We have worked through this with others of the forums before, so it is definitely possible, so we can assist you, what type of system is this, (Windows, Linux, etc) and how are you sheching it (e.g. agent installed, SNMP, SSH, etc)?
