Can you go and edit your nrpe.cfg to show:
debug=1
and see if it will generate some debug info in the log files of the host you are running the command from.
Hopefully this will help us find where this is coming from in the code.

Dear,
I think, the change must be on nagois core server because when client host is down then there is no concern of what parameters are set on client nrpe.cfg are (it is totally cut off showing no configured ip/running machine). I filed a Bug report for this problem today so hopefully, it will be fixed soon.
