I'm an old nagios user, but I recently moved to XI to enjoy new way of life !
I really enjoyed the upgrade but I've really disappointed about some features which have disappeared: i.e notes_url and action_URL icons !
If one read the NAgios core help, service definition:
notes_url:
- This directive is used to define an optional URL that can be used to provide more information about the service. If you specify an URL, you will see a red folder icon in the CGIs (when you are viewing service information) that links to the URL you specify here. Any valid URL can be used. If you plan on using relative paths, the base path will the the same as what is used to access the CGIs (i.e. /cgi-bin/nagios/). This can be very useful if you want to make detailed information on the service, emergency contact methods, etc. available to other support staff.
- 1- go to service details
2- select advanced tab
3- click on "See this service in Nagios Core" (More options section - rigth bottom)
With old CGI-based Nagios fashion, I had just to click on the famouns "red icon" in the service list to reach the target URL. This red icon was automatically added as soon as a Notes_URL or Action_URL field was field in, in the service definition.
Thanks anyway to the Nagios team for the whole product running today !
