Scheduling Downtime vs Scheduling Downtime for all services

Hi -
I know this is a simple test, but I've currently disabled notifications for Nagios during our migration from a different monitoring platform.
Under the advanced tab, does "Scheduling Downtime" suspend ALL alerts (host + services), or do I need to "Schedule downtime for all services on this host" as well?
Thanks

You will need to also schedule downtime for all services on this host. Why don't you just go to Admin->Monitoring Engine Status, and disable notifications globally by clicking on the "x" (Disable action button) next to "Notifications"? It's only one click (a lot easier)?

Hi -
Thanks for the response. My understanding is your proposed solution would disable all alerts to all systems? We're just trying to do it on one system. And we're avoiding disabling because it requires a separate action to re-enable (vs. suspension)

Hi,
How can we disable a specific host and its service at the same time.

Go to Home->Host Detail->your host->Advanced->See this host in Nagios Core->Disable notifications for all services on this host->Disable For Host Too=checked->Commit

Thanks. This helps a lot.
Is there also a way to manage alerts using the command line? Acknowledge / Disable / Downtime ??

Well, you can submit commands through the command pipe using:
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/extcommands.html
That's what I'd recommend.
