Nagios Quick Search not displaying any results

Hi All,

For some reason the quick search functionality on my Nagios system has stopped working altogether. It never auto-populates as you type and even if I type exact host names of servers it never finds anything.

When I first implemented the system it worked but as I've added servers over time its worked less and less and now has stopped altogether?

Is there any index I can rebuild or anything? Not really sure where to start troubleshooting this, I checked the event log but all appeared to be ok.

Is this Nagios Core or XI? Nagios core doesn't have a drop down that populates.

In Core, if you type a whole hostname and press enter it should take you to a list of matching hosts/services

Are you sure? I'm using core but I'm 95% sure when I first installed it the quick search auto-populated the first few servers I added?

Anyways even if I search the exact hostname I never get any matches.

I think what you are experiencing is your web browser caching what you have typed previously in that field. I have just tested it and that is the case here for me on a Core 4.0.8 system.

If I type local and press enter it displays the localhost service status page.

If I type ho and press enter it displayed the HOST001 service status page.

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot your problem with the typing of the exact hostname, perhaps scottwilkerson will have a better idea.

You know what, I think your right - I didn't consider that possibility!

I've just restarted the linux server and search results are now listing.

Thanks for the help!
