Hi,
iam a software developer and we have written some nagios checks for our
project. Now we have a central nagios server which is monitoring 40
hosts or so. Me and my team mates do not have access to the nagios
server. This do not mean that there is no communication between
administration and us, but it is not very productive to call him any
time we have to add a check.
So my question is if there is a possibility to add checks on the "to
monitoring host"-side (there is an npre daemon running) which then
automatic added to the monitoring in Nagios Server ?
We all know this behavior from Munin and munin nodes:
Adding a munin plugin on host side adds a new graph on server side
without any steps on the munin server.
Manage checks on client side only
Re: Manage checks on client side only
Hello,
Please review the NRDP plugin and documentation here: http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... or/details.
This plugin can be used to send passive checks.
I also suggest looking into host automation. There is a guide on host automation here: http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... gement.pdf. This will be required for automatic creation of hosts on the Nagios Server.
Please let me know if you need additional assistance. Thanks!
Best,
Jesse
