Search / Filter Nagios XI Event Log

Is there any way to have more than one search term when filtering the event log in Reports->Event Log in the Nagios XI GUI? For example, SERVICE ALERT and <Host Name>. I can search for one or the other. It will not let me search for "SERVICE ALERT: <Host Name>" when I cut and paste from the Event Log into the search box. Is there some escape character for the ":"?

Thanks.

There is not currently a way to search for more than one term at a time.

What version of XI are you running? Copying and pasting from mine works properly with a ":" in it.

You can create a feature request at http://tracker.nagios.com.

Are there any nonstandard characters in the name? Can you PM me what you're trying to copy/paste and one of the full lines that you are searching for so that I can lab it up?

Ok, this looks like it's a bug, I'll create a bug report now.

Code: Select all

NEW TASK ID 5300 created - Nagios XI Bug Report: Event Log Search - Search terms with ":" or ";" only return results preceding those characters.
Since we have created a bug report it's in the developers hands now, I'm going to mark this as resolved and lock the topic. Keep an eye on the release notes to determine if it's been fixed in the next releases.

I looked for a quick fix for you but there is no way to modify the protected files (where this bug occurs) as an end user.
