I have a host that I cannot delete.

I've deleted it from the nagios conig and deledet all the files for that host in /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/ but the host keeps reappearing. WHen it does reappear it shows up in the GUI but not in the config and the files reappear for that host in /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/.

The only way I can get it to go away is to delete the /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/%host% folder and then reload nagios but it just reppears again in a few mins.

how do I get rid of it permanently.

I'm using version 2009R1.1H

Is this an issue were you have changed the case? It sounds like you would rather get rid of any host with a likeness to this host or any host name even close to this name.

From what you describe I'd say that Nagios Core is still returning check results for this host, that would explain every thing that's happening. Try looking though a config snapshot to see if you can find the host responsible. There is a known issue with the config manager that the name the appears on the list of host is not the same as the host name in Nagios, so to find this host you may have to edit every host in the core config manager.

Does this host or any thing even close to it exist when looking at Nagios core '/nagios' VS '/nagiosxi'? It sounds like you indicated that you couldn't find it here. One place to look is in the scheduling queue, from what you indicate it must be here at least. You can also try a correlate what Nagios checked(or was supposed to check) at the time these files were created... Save snapshots of the scheduling queue and compare then to the time on the files after they have been created.
