Sun, HP and IBM hardware monitoring

Hi All,
We are trying to look if Nagios provides any plugins for monitoring server hardware’s from below vendors.
• Sun
• IBM
• HP
We see that a plug in is in place for monitoring Dell server hardware, where the plugin communicates with OMSA to get the component state details; something of this sort is what we are looking at for our other hardware.

Also are there any way to monitor windows machines with SNMPV3 ?

Have you looked around the nagios exchange? Does the below help for your purposes at all?
• Sun

• IBM

• HP

Definitely - have you looked at the SNMP Wizard for this purpose? Windows machines are supported as long as they have SNMP enabled. It's worth noting that Microsoft is planning to depricate SNMP moving forward, so it may not be the best choice in terms of agentless monitoring.

You might look into WMI. http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios-XI.pdf

Hi jolson,

We can able to monitor the hardware health status for the windows physical servers on HP hardware using SNMPv1 and v2.

Our question here is, can we monitor the hardware health status(like powersupply, physical drive status, fan speed etc,.) using SNMPv3 using Nagios core and Nagios XI.

For IBM hardware can we able to monitor the below components using Nagios core and XI
• Processors
• Power supplies
• Memory modules
• Fans
• CPU- and board-temperatures
• Raids

If the devices that you are trying to monitor have SNMPv3 support, and can display the above information, you will be able to monitor them with no issue.

My answer is similar here - as long as your devices offer this information via SNMP, Nagios can monitor it.

You could try the 'SNMP Monitoring Wizard' and if you know the OIDs you'd like to monitor, it should be as easy as punching them in:
