Installer stopped working on 5/2/15, I think.

I am trying to install Nagios on RHEL version 7. When I ran ./fullinstall I saw an error. In the install.log file, this site has a 404 error:
Code: Select all
http://mirror.oss.ou.edu/epel/7/x86_64/repodata/dd5cf6a19fbbe585a0dcb7b4dd9e2861d4017cfc5439cf6fc8bef73f646ff19b-primary.sqlite.bz2
The link is indeed defective. As of 5/2/15, there is a new ...-primary.sqlite.bz2 file. It is in the location of
http://mirror.oss.ou.edu/epel/7/x86_64/repodata/.
Is there a way to manually modify a configuration file so the correct URL is invoked and installed? This would lead to a successful download.
There were various Processing Dependency issues in the install. I'm not sure if I should even try the ./fullinstall again given the warnings about installing it on a clean machine only. How do I get Nagios installed?

This is not a broken install but rather a broken mirror.
Add "exclude=mirror.oss.ou.ed" to the main section of /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/fastestmirror.conf
Do a
See if that fixes it.

I don't have an fastestmirror.conf file in that directory.
I have these files:
amazon-id.conf product-id.conf rhui-lb.conf
langpacks.conf rhnplugin.conf subscription-manager.conf
What should I do?

Sorry - I didn't notice that you're on RHEL which I don't think uses fastestmirror anymore. I don't have an RHEL 7 system handy - so I'll do my best - let's try this.
Open /etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo - mine looks like this:
Code: Select all
[epel]
name=Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux 7 - $basearch
#baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/$basearch
mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-7&arch=$basearch
failovermethod=priority
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL-7
[epel-debuginfo]
name=Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux 7 - $basearch - Debug
#baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/$basearch/debug
mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-debug-7&arch=$basearch
failovermethod=priority
enabled=0
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL-7
gpgcheck=1
[epel-source]
name=Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux 7 - $basearch - Source
#baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/SRPMS
mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-source-7&arch=$basearch
failovermethod=priority
enabled=0
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL-7
gpgcheck=1
In each of those uncomment the baseurl line and comment the mirrorlist line.
Cross your fingers and try to install again.

I tried that. "In each of those uncomment the baseurl line and comment the mirrorlist line."
I ran the installer again. It still doesn't work.
In install.log I see these messages:

You may need to enable your base repo so that the yum installer can install the needed dependencies.
Can you run the following on your server and post the output so we can see the list of repo's on your server?

Those packages should be part of the Redhat Optional repo. You need to enable that repo and you may need a subscription from Redhat to get access to them.

I think you asked me to post the output for a reason. Do I need every single package that is disabled?
I'm using a free version of AWS. If I need a subscription, it sounds like I will have to pay.

you need this item enabled
Code: Select all
rhui-REGION-rhel-server-optional/7Server/x86_64 Red H disabled
Additionally, you will likely want to do a
to fix the HTTP Error 404 - Not Found issue for the mirror you have cached
