Got a little behind on updates

I never got around to installing the 2014 r2.6 update, and now I've got the r2.7 pending. Do I need to install the 2.6 update first, or is 2.7 a cumulative update?

Cumulative, no need to go in order. Generally speaking, any same-year version can upgrade to that same year. For going from 2012 to 2014 there are some potential snags you might hit, but within the same major year release you are fine.
