Try troubleshooting this with snmpwalk:

Code: Select all

snmpwalk -v 2c -c jawwal-snmp 10.100.5.29
I expect that will fail, in which case you need to verify your switch's SNMP config and/or firewalls between the Nagios host and the switch's daemon.

Hmmm... interesting.

Can you post the output of this:

Code: Select all

snmpwalk -v 2c -c jawwal-snmp 10.100.5.29 1.3.6.1.2.1.1
Maybe some empty strings there are causing the error:

Code: Select all

Use of uninitialized value $comment_sysdescr in substitution (s///) at /usr/bin/cfgmaker line 379

What is the version of Nagios XI and the "Network Switch / Router" wizard that you are currently using?

Is this the first time you are running the wizard against the device?

Run the following commands and show us the output:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg
ll /etc/mrtg
ll /etc/mrtg/conf.d

What is the version of Nagios XI and the "Network Switch / Router" wizard that you are currently using?
Can you tell us what is the exact version of Nagios XI (i.e. Nagios XI 2014R2.7, Nagios XI 2014R2.6, Nagios XI 2014R2.5, etc.)? You said "Nagios xI 2014", which doesn't provide us with enough information. What is the version of the wizard? In order to find out - go to Admin->Manage Config Wizards.

When you run the wizard, did you by chance click on the "SNMPv1" tab?

You can run snmpwalk successfully using v2 but I am not sure if v1 is enabled on your device, and this is what you showed us in your first post:
[root@nms ~]# /usr/bin/cfgmaker --show-op-down --noreversedns --zero-speed '100000000' '[email protected]:::::1'
