Hi...

We had our NagiosXI Centos server running on a standalone vmwarehost, it has been running fine for almost 2 years.
Yesterday I moved the server with vmwareconverter to our new vmware envionment, changed Mac adress and everythin worked fine, it checked to midnight and the it stopped checking.
If I look at last check it is from last night, i renamed retention.dat and restarted the server and it started to do the checks as it should again.
Does anyone now why this happened, what is the best procedure to fix this problem?

Many things can cause this.
- Did you see a load spike before it went down?
- Did the queue fill? - rentention.dat may have been corrupted as well. Do you use a ramdisk?
- Any interesting info in the nagios or system logs around the time of the crash?
