Hi,

We have a web server running windows IIS service, base on the application, we must visit through FDQN (stagingsit.hactl.com).
Below is the hosts table
172.31.8.99 CMSSAP01 stagingsit.hactl.com

For monitor the web page, in CCM there has "Website URL", Website", "TCP/UDP port" template. I should use which template to monitor the webpage?
Nagios can read the /etc/hosts to resolve the IP address of statgingsit.hactl.com?

Is the above hosts table on the Nagios machine, or is it on your IIS Server?

My impression is that you're referencing wizards. What exactly would you like to monitor on your IIS machine? Each wizard has a different purpose depending on what you're trying to do.

Nagios cannot see the /etc/hosts file of a different computer, but if the /etc/hosts entry is on the Nagios machine itself, there should be no problems resolving this hostname.
