Hi.

I'm quiet new on Nagios and WMware. I download the VMWare Virtual machine (64-bits) from the Nagios Website. Use VMCoverter to install the machine on my vSphere 5.5.0.
Then I install the VMtools and when running initctl list | grep vmware showa " vmware-tools start/running.

One of the things that I notice is that on the Guest Machine, on the Network Adapter (by the way is VMXNET3) the DirectPath I/O Status is "Inactive". On the Info buttom the reason is "The state of the atthached network prevents DirectPath I/O".

Can you help me.

What is the status of the NIC in the VM?

Code: Select all

ip addr
Did you download the "VMware Virtual Machine" or the "vSphere OVF Template"?

Thank for answering.

The NIC is up and running, it has other guest machines connected. In the Nagios machine, the ifconfig command show me the eth0 with the IP address I provide and the ifcfg-eth0 i'm seending a screnshot.

And I download the VM Virtual machine.

Your network is 172.16.1.128/26
This puts your gateway outside of your network. Take a good look at your subnetting and rearrange your router and/or Nagios VM's IP as needed.
