Is there a step I am missing?
I followed the steps in this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQg5eBNIIOo, with this plugin, https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/A ... Component/. However the notes tab is not showing up.

I am using Nagios XI 2014R2.7 and I also have Network Analyzer, so my tabs on the host are Overview, Performance Graph, Advanced, Configure, Capacity Planning, Network Traffic Analysis. But no Notes.

Download the component from here:

https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/A ... nt/details

and install it by going to:

Admin->Manage Components->Browse->objectnotes.zip->Upload Component

What is the difference between components and plugins?

Components extend the functionality of Nagios XI, plugins give Nagios different ways to check services that you setup.

Plugins are standalone extensions for Nagios Core and Nagios XI that are used to monitor various aspects of a network, while components are basically addons to Nagios XI that allow you extent its functionality.
