I have installed NSClient 0.4.3 agent on server. Server I can ping and RDP still when I on-board it on Nagios, Get error "Socket timeout after 10 sec"
When I try to ping the server from tool, server shows non-pingable.
I have attached both the ping status from tool and from my desktop

To clarify a bit here... which server are you unable to ping? The XI server, or the server with NSClient on it?

Are you using one of our pre-built VMs, or was this an installation you did yourself?

Can you post your NSClient.ini (with passwords and any sensitive information obfuscated)?

You're able to ping the server from the Nagios XI box, just not the XI program running on it?

What version of XI are you running? You can find this in the lower lefthand corner of your XI screen.

What OS is your XI installation running on top of?

Code: Select all

cat /etc/*release*

Can you issue a

Code: Select all

service iptables status
I suspect you may have some firewall stuff going on. If you can't even ping, it's going to be hard to get anything working.

Can you login to the Nagios XI server as root in a shell and ping the remote server?
Can you post the settings for the ping check that you are having issues with?
