Receive SMS notification on only acknowledgements

I have unchecked all the SMS notifications under my profile but have enable notification checked for just email alters for host down, up and service critical, recovery. Today, I discovered others are getting notifications for acknowledgements as well and have SMS unchecked. Not sure what is causing this or where the acknowledgement SMS notifications are located that could be set. I look under Admin | User | Notification Management and everything there is unchecked. Same is true for my user specific settings, SMS is all unchecked.

Do you have contact setup that is sending the messages?
Go in to Core Config Manager > Contacts and check the contacts that are defined.

Still cannot figure out why I have several people that get acknowledgement SMS messages? I have looked over my user account and see nothing or where this is notification is being configured out.

Acks are not a notification we have any control of(god I hope that changes
). If you have SMS enabled for a user, even if they have everything unchecked, they'd still get acknowledgments via sms. They'd have to uncheck sms enabled.

Yes, there isn't a way for now to disable acknowledgements but when a user does acknowledge a problem, they can uncheck the box called "Send Notification" and the acknowledgement will not be sent out.
This will have to be done every time a problem is acknowledged.

Yeah, I hope that changes in the future.

Is there a way to keep the check box unchecked for "Send Notification" by default?

Yes, you have to modify the underlying nagios core and recompile it though. Let me try and find the forum thread and I'll post back!
EDIT: Actually, I wouldn't bother doing it. It has been patched into nagios core already, added a new config variable into the nagios.cfg file. I'm hoping the updated core comes with the next XI release.
