Many service started flapping

good morning...

I just started receiving alerts for servers and service going up and down, flapping. It started after I could not login using my AD credentials. found out that the resolve.conf was missing. after I replaced it, all the flapping started. this is happening on a lot of servers and services...
Any Ideas???

This is happening all over the environment...getting slammed with alerts. Any reason this would happen by restore the resolv.conf file.

Thanks,
Leszek

I'm a little confused as to when the problem started. At first you said "It started after I could not login using my AD credentials" but then in a later sentence you say "after I replaced it, all the flapping started". Can you please clarify? This will help us get a better idea of what might have happened.

I'm not sure if they were related....

Issue 1. Could not login using AD creds.
resolution. found out that /etc/resolv.conf was missing and added it back. that fixed AD logins.

Issue 2. As soon as the resolv.conf was added back, we got tons of alerts of services going up and down. console shows the flapping icon.

Thanks!

Hey Leszek :)

What kind of critical/warning/unknown messages are you getting? Are these all windows servers(wmi checks), linux, network switches, what? Any pattern basically?
