Hi,
Simple question really -- is it possible to change the username for the initial local admin account?
Thanks.

If you are talking about the nagiosadmin account, no you cannot change it.

You can remove the 'nagiosadmin' account using the command line, but it is not recommended to do so. What you should do instead is simply setup an administrative user with the name that you'd like the user to have. e.g. 'polarbear1admin'. After creating this administrative account, you can set the nagiosadmin password to some very complex string and never use it again.

Figured that was the case. Long story short - wasn't paying attention on the initial install and named the nagiosadmin account for a real person in the company instead of something more generic (or just leaving it as nagiosadmin). Ehh, thanks anyway.

Wish there was more we could do to help you. At least this isn't catastrophic and you can make a different account. Am I all right to lock this one up?

What you *can* do is go to the 'User Management' section of Nagios Log Server and 'Edit' the nagiosadmin user. From there, undo the accidental naming that you may have setup with the 'nagiosadmin' account:

Would this solution work out for you?
