Morning Guru's of Nagios

I am hoping that one of you could help me. I currently have my hosts set to check every mminute with retries also set to a minute and only 1 check.

I am getting alerts regularing that only last a minute and I want to know about them via an email alert to try and figure out why I am getting so many soft state alerts.

My question is can I either set email alerts to be sent on soft alerst of if I can't how can I set the checks to third seconds?

Thanks in advance for your help.

To email on every state change you could edit your service and select notify-service-by-email or xi_service_notification_handler (depending on what your contacts are set to), this will email on every state change.

It is not recommended to set your checks to lower than 1 minute, it is possible but it will have major load implications and will affect all of the times for all services.
