Can i install Nagios on ubuntu?

Hi
i saw that Nagios can be installed only on RHEL CentOS or Fedora OS,

what about ubuntu? it is also a linux OS.

Think that this is the core install but if i where you i would install xi directly

And look for installation guide ubuntu

Yes you can install on Ubuntu but be warned, there are many tutorials online available but many of them are quite inaccurate and often there are conflicts in what you will see in the file structure of what you download and what people online in tutorials will tell you, mainly look closely at the version you have downloaded IE NAGIOS3 and be sure to follow tutorials specifically for that version as often install locations and file locations are not the same!

Nagios Core is packaged in the official repositories for Ubuntu, so you can install easily from there with apt-get. Nagios XI on the other hand only runs on RPM-style distros, specifically RHEL, CentOS, and sometimes Fedora.
