Peace,
i noticed the in service templates, i can set notification to reoccur every several hours. however, host notification sends every hour when host is down and this is unnecessary and i didn't find where to configure that. it seems to be related to the check host alive.

is there a way to configure the renotification of the host without going to the web interface, or is it simply to add a line to host template like in the service template?

It's just that easy. Make note of the "use" lines for your hosts, these lines indicate upstream templates where your current notification settings are being sourced.
