How can I update nodes within Nagios to reflect the new descriptions on Cisco interfaces?

There are two ways you can go about this:

1. If you don't care about historical perfdata, you can remove the old configs, mrtgscan files, and rerun the wizard. For more info, readthe document below:

2. If you care about the old perfdata - you can use the "Renaming Tools".

CCM->Tools->Renaming Tool->Services

Select ALL of the services that you would like to rename, click on "Next", type in the new service description and click on "Next". This manual renaming could be somewhat tedious but you can use copy/paste to save time.
