"Send Custom Notification" option.

Running the latest XI (and previous versions), if I went to a host and selected 'Send Custom Notification', whatever text I enter in the 'Comment' field does not actually get sent in the email notification.
Is there something I have to do to get this text to be included in the alert?
I DO see: Notification Type: CUSTOM, but not the comment.
