Performance Graphs

Hi,

I have downloaded and installed the Nagios XI virtual machine and having some issue with bandwidth performance graphs. I am trying to monitor a Cisco 7206 VXR router. I have checked the FAQ and done the following.

Checked /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log for any errors - No Errors
Checked /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/device - Over here I only see the ping.rrd and ping.xml file and that graph is available. However I do not see any .rrd/.xml files for the interface traffic.

Please advice on where to check. Thanks in advance.

Walter

Do you see anything interesting in the "/usr/local/nagios/var/npcd.log" file?

Is NPCD service running?

Code: Select all

# service npcd status
Did you try restarting it?

Code: Select all

# service npcd restart

Hi,

I don't see anything irregular in "/usr/local/nagios/var/npcd.log" file. The service npcd is also running.

Walter

Walter,

What wizard did you run when trying to monitor your Cisco equipment?

Hi,

I used the Network Switch / Router wizard.

Walter,

This may sound trivial, but when you added the Cisco gear did it find all the ports? And did you uncheck any of the ports (as in tell Nagios to monitor them)?

Is the bandwidth status showing up under the Service Details? Not the graph, but the last reading of the bandwidth?

Hi,

Sorry about the delayed response, but I do not see the bandwidth measurement or the performance graph. On the bandwidth service I see OK - Current BW in: Mbps Out: Mbps.

I did not disable any service when using the wizard.

Walter

Can you run

Code: Select all

ls -l /var/lib/mrtg/
To see if we are creating the RRD files necessary in mrtg
