Nagios 5.2.0 Upgrade Issues

Hi,

A few days ago we upgraded to Nagios XI 5.2.0 from 2014R2.7. After a few days we realised that our performance graphs had stopped graphing.

After checking out a few support posts and our system I say that rrdcached was not an installed service and rrdtool was v1.3.8. I ran the xi-rrdcached.sh which installed the service and upgraded rrdtool to 1.4.4. Performance graphs seemed to start again, however I am now frequently seeing the Monitoring Engine in the Stopped state and have to frequently start it again. After this I also ran a 'yum update' which doesn't seem to have had any impact. We are using the Nagios supplied VM image.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Simon

Is opening an email support ticket is an option for you? If it is, send your profile to [email protected]. Thanks!

Hm. I wonder if this might be the same issue we're seeing, coincidentally having taken place at the same time as a mistaken MySQL username password update (and "downdate"):

Can you look at the nagios.log file for any errors and post them here when the Monitoring Engine is stopped?

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log
