Question on migration - Upgraded XI5 to clean XI5 install

tldr version: Can you import a backup made in a Nagios XI 5 upgrade version (meaning it still uses postgres) to a clean install XI 5 that wouldn't have postgres?

My main XI machine is an aging CentOS5 system. We're in the process of migrating all our things to CentOS6, and this question popped in to my head. My initial idea on upgrading was clean install XI5 on CentOS6, backup the config from our existing XI system, and restore in to the new system.
But I know there is the dealio with the postgres data, so I wasn't sure if this would actually work or not.
I know at the world conference you guys had said you'll eventually have a process to convert those XI 5's with postgres to all mysql like a clean XI 5 system would be and was thinking I might have to wait for that.

Thanks for any insight as always :ugeek:

The steps you need to follow to restore your XI 5 backup (which was upgraded from 2014) are:

* Install Nagios XI 2014R2.7 on the new server
* Upgrade this fresh install to XI 5.x
* Restore from the backup

This will ensure the postgres database exists when the restore occurs.

Let us know if you need any further help! I have performed several upgrades the way that @box293 mentioned, and they've worked well for me.
