MS SQL Plugin Recommendations

We have a need to do basic monitoring of MS SQL servers from Nagios 4 Core and have tried both check_mssql and check_mssql_health and had compatibility issues of one sort or another with them and was hoping to get some recommendations from the community. The requirements are CentOS6.6 host, Nagios 4 (or XI), monitoring MS SQL 2008R2 or newer, monitor at least SQL service status, SQL queries and stuck/failed jobs. Requiring the transmission of SA or other creds as part of the check processing is not a problem, but we would expect the results of the check will display in Nagios console and be able to allow Nagios to generate notifications. Active development and support of the plug-in, script(s) and dependent modules is also highly desirable! What say you?

Have you taken a look at our exchange yet? There are quite a few plugins related to MSSQL, https://exchange.nagios.org/index.php?o ... word=mssql

Yes - we have looked thru the Exchange and saw many plug-ins and noticed that many were several years old where it was not clear what version of MS SQL was supported. So we just wanted to ask the question and see what folks are using these days.

Take a look at this plugin. It is a popular one and seems to work pretty well for MSSQL 2008 and 2012.
