Host stuck in Pending

Post by daveinvb »

I have added hosts that had the incorrect time period. I have updated the time period, but it is not updating the next check. If I force check a host, it will update it. However I don't want to manually touch hundreds of objects. Is there a way to update them? I've restarted Nagios both through the gui and SSH with no luck.

Have you looked at the Bulk Modification tool inside of the Core Configuration Manager? This should allow you to change configuration options between hosts.

I'm not changing a configuration option. The next check is a database entry based off of the the time period and the last check. Since these are new entries, there is no last check and only occurs when I forcefully check each one.

I also have hosts that are stuck in Pending. How do you fix that, I didn't get the time period issue.

I think the easiest way is going to be going to Home > Incident Management > Mass Acknowledge

Change Command Type to Schedule Immediate Check.

Select your hosts/services with an issue there, and submit the command.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for. I would have never thought to look under Mass Acknowledge. That's resolved my issue and this post can be closed.

It's an extremely useful feature, I'm not 100% sure why we have it under there. I'll ask the devs if maybe the link text should change.

@EnvBroker1 please post a new thread if you have an issue.
